STAA is excited to be hosting its second practitioner circle, a space where we can gather together to support, to connect and to enhance our professional development skills as a community.

Each circle, a new speaker will facilitate, so we can discover new offerings, explore diverse teachings and expand our community connections. Together we can nurture a community of practitioners with our mutual support and inspiration.

For our circle in November we welcome Jessica Strachan.

Jess is a Shiatsu practitioner who explores body-based techniques to support her clients with embodied trauma. She has a working relationship with the Western Victims Assistance Program supporting victims/survivors from all walks of life and a vast array of experiences.

Jess also works closely with the Centre Against Sexual Assault (WestCASA) where she treats on-site with a team of counsellors through an 8 session, 16 week program exploring body-based therapies. All clients have individual aims or desires through this work. Keeping clients safe and in control is the main objective and Shiatsu can be a supportive practice for a population who wish to address the body experience in their trauma healing.

Jess has a Diploma in Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies from the Australian Shiatsu College, and a Bachelor of Health Science and Applied Science in Chinese Medicine from RMIT.

Jess acknowledges the importance of her mentorship with Alex Caldwell in this field of Shiatsu.

We look forward to you joining us for the opportunity to connect creatively, to grow, and to take a deep breath in our shared care of others and ourselves.
